After a hard decision, Claire, a 16 year old girl at college, is moving into the Glass house. Michael Glass, the owner of the house, owns a home like nobody has ever seen before. But the Glass house isn’t the only one who’s different, so is Michael. Along with her new roommates, Shane and Eve, Claire will find out that Michael isn’t who they thought he was. He is a creature that wouldn’t be thought to be real, but in the little town Morganville, Texas, Claire learns that anything is possible. But this creature that Michael is, is nothing compared to what going to happen next. Frank Collins, Shane’s dad, is back in town, and he’s not there to visit, he’s here for revenge and destruction, and he won’t take no for an answer. He will kill any vampire (yes vampire), in his way and Frank is desperate to win this war that his created. Michael, Claire, Shane, and Eve, will find themselves in a huge mess and Frank Collins will make moves that will get the four teenagers in a heap of trouble and Shane will be betrayed by his own father. Time is running out to get Shane out of the mess his father put him in, and to do it they have to prove the Shane is innocent and Frank Collins isn’t. Claire will go to extreme heights to try to convince the highest ranked vampires that Shane didn’t do it. But it’s not safe for them anymore and Claire will make a mistake that could potentially kill her and her friends.

The Dead Girls Dance is the second book in the series, The Morganville Vampires. This book is about more than killing; it’s about dealing with the past, caring, hating and fighting. This is a very good book and I would recommend it to teenage girls. I think Rachel Caine is an outstanding writer and you will never want to set the book down. But to really understand what’s going on you have to read the first book too. So get reading!
