Luke, twelve years old, has never had a friend other than his two brothers. This is because he is one of the shadow children. In the town that Luke and his family live in, families are only aloud to have two children. If families illegally have more than two children, the third child is known as a shadow child. Luke is the third child. Every day while his parents are away at work and his brothers are at school, he must stay captivated in his home until everyone returns. During the long, boring, unexciting days at home, Luke must stay away from windows at all times. If he is seen by anyone other than his family, Luke will be taken away by the government. One day while he is home alone, a new family moves in next door. While Luke is staring out his window, he sees another face in the window next door where he knows two children already live. Could this other face he saw in the window be a shadow child like himself? Will Luke be curious enough to figure it out? Read this book to find out!

Among the Hidden is a very interesting book that keeps you reading until the end. I recommend this book to people who like Fiction books that aren’t very lengthy but are still a good read. I like this book because it is a page turner and is very exciting and detailed.
