What do you do when you’re a spy in training and you meet a normal boy who seems to like you? Well for Cammie go into field training and are put on assignments and at the end of the semester they must choose whether or not they would like to continue this class. On her first assignment Cammie meets a normal boy named Josh. When Cammie tells her friends about Josh they decide to help her get to know him. They research him and sneak into his house. Over time Cammie and Josh develop a strong relationship. When the end of the semester draws closer Cammie must choose if she is going to continue at the school. Long after all of the other kids have turned in their forms with a checked box marking yes or no, Cammie has yet to make a decision. She must choose to tell Josh the truth about her life and lose him forever or give up her education at Gallager Academy. What will her choice be?

Throughout the book Cammie learns that every choice has sacrifices. She had to give up Josh in order to pursue the only life she has known, being a spy. And even though Cammie wasn’t comfortable with it, she kept a secret from her friend in order to spare her friend worry. Cammie also learned the value of close friends. Her friends risked punishment to help Cammie get closer to Josh. They did her homework when she was out with him and they did the background research gathering information about Josh and his family.

This book would be great fun for people who like teen romance, mystery and action. This book was fast-paced and adventurous. As Cammie got deeper into her relationship with Josh, it became harder to keep her worlds separate. Other people that have read this book have said that it is a book that has “girl power” and is a book you wouldn’t want to miss. Keep in mind, though, that this is the first book among a series of four. You’ll have to read all four to find out what happens to Cammie in the end.
