Never having a father she thought Joe was the perfect guy.  Her mother loved him and they were happy together what more could a girl want? And they were happy after the war too the war didn’t put a stop to their love if anything it strengthened their love. Joe started a business when he came back from the war so they were well provided for. When he came from the war he brought them gifts and not little cheap trinkets but beautiful exquisite jewelry and other items. Where had this all come from?

Evie thought everything was just great. She had a family and they were happy. Then Joe her step dad decided that they would go on vacation. That was just fine with Evie she had never been to Florida so this was just great. They go to Florida and Evie meets this guy he is too die for she doesn’t consider herself pretty but Peter says other wise.  When she introduces him to her parents Evie finds out that Joe and Peter served in the war together. Everything is fine for a while but then the tension begins to build. Joe and Peter don’t get along and Peter tell Evie that her adored father owes him money but isn’t paying up. One day her parents take Peter out in the boat for a ride and leave her behind and a tornado blows in. Her parents had been warned of the storm but they said they really wanted to go and take Peter  along for the ride.  Few hours later the storm comes in and they cant find her loved ones. Will they make it out alive?

What I Saw and How I Lied, is a romance and mystery book. It is full of guessing lines that you could take one of two ways but other wise its not that bad. It has a few d-u-h parts but in other times your on your toes.
