Everyone imagines what a perfect life would be like.  To be extremely rich, have perfect looks, to live in a huge house and have everything the way you want.  In Kyle Kingsbury’s case, he doesn’t have to imagine.  He is the son of a very rich news reporter and gets everything exactly the way he demands.  He has maids, cars, and the hot girlfriends that everyone else dreams of.  With his dad’s cash, Kyle lives the life he thinks he deserves.  His life is perfect until he becomes beastly.  It all starts when Kyle picks on a girl in his English class.  He humiliates her and lies to her about going to the dance with him.  He announces to the whole class about how she is ugly and how he is wonderful. Little does Kyle know but he calls the wrong girl ugly.  The girl that he picks on just happens to be a witch, a witch that wants to teach him a lesson.  That night a spell is placed on Kyle that turns him into a beast.  He is a beast that has to find someone to fall in love with who he is on the inside.  He has two years to get a kiss from a girl that loves him.  The only problem is that the old Kyle was handsome on the outside and ugly on the inside.  The new Kyle is ugly on the outside and ugly on the inside.  In order to break the spell something has to change and change fast.  He must become human again.  But can he break the spell?

Beastly is a very enjoyable and fast paced book.  It is a whole new and modern twist on the classic fairy tale Beauty and the Beast.  This book puts you in suspense and makes you not want to put it down.  It teaches you that looks aren’t everything and what’s on the inside that counts. For Kyle Kingsbury he has to learn it the hard way.  I would recommend this book to people that like to read love stories and fairytales.  This book shows you that love is beautiful and even being ugly cannot prevent it.
