Take the journey, filled with happiness, fulfillment, sickness, and death, with Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan in A Walk to Remember, by Nicholas Sparks. In the book, Landon Carter is a kid who attends church every week, but doesn’t care about it at all. But, when he finds himself in need of a date for a dance he has one option. Jamie Sullivan, “with honey blonde hair and soft blue eyes, most of the time she looked sort of…plain, and that was when you noticed her at all,” said Landon and what was worse is that she was the reverends daughter. As Jamie and Landon hung out, he discovered that he enjoyed her company, but it was not until the town play, which they were in together, did he realize he loved her. But, when Landon learns a devastating secret, his and Jamie’s love is jeopardized forever. Will love prevail or be lost forever?

While reading this book you will get lost in the perfect atmosphere of North Carolina, and forget everything around you. Sparks vivid picture holds you to the very end, with the emotions that come across so clearly it is as if you are experiencing it with the characters. It’s a classic love story filled with drama and seemingly insurmountable circumstances. A native of North Carolina, Nicholas Sparks, is a #1 New York Times Bestselling Author, and continues to prevail with, A Walk to Remember. This book is 240 pages, but the font is medium sized and therefore easy and quick to read. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading romance and not afraid to cry. Join the characters for, “the Love Story [of] the millennium.”
