Crank is more than just an illegal drug; it kills you, little by little, until there is nothing left to live for. Crank puts you on a crazy high for a few days, and then a brutal crash for another three. Crank is an addiction that tears your body apart, leaving only your mind to wander alone.
Kristina snow has always been the perfect daughter, but that all changes when she visits her father over the summer. Kristina discovers a flirty, confident, fearless girl inside herself, who she calls Bree. Shortly after her arrival, Kristina/Bree meets Adam, a boy that introduces her to love, and the monster. When it’s time for Kristina to go back to Reno, she has to decide who is going back, Kristina or Bree, and if the monster is tagging along. Kristina continues to make poor decisions about boys, school, and the monster. Can Kristina get herself back in control, or is the grasp of the monster too much for her to handle?
Crank is exciting, captivating, and a really enjoyable book to read. I think that Ellen Hopkins does a great job making you feel like you’re a charater in the story. I gave this book a 5 out of 5 because I absoulty loved the it. I loved how I never wanted to put it down, and I was always interested and wondering what was coming next. I recommend this book to anyone who likes realistic fiction, romance, and real life problems.
