She is daughter of a widowed mother, sister of a fatherless sibling, is going to the Hunger Games. She and another tribute are going to their foreseen doom, as everyone pretty much thinks, but before the battle begins they train, learn stratagies, and see who their competition is. Now after all the preparations are complete it is time to begin the Games. In the first couple days of battle over seven tributes are killed in the games. Everyone is now hiding but the Games controlers start to do things that draw the remaining fighters together,in the end who will be the winner? Katniss is a hunter who lives by her own rules and cares for no one but her only friend and her family. Peeta is a baker who is strong and is good with camoulflage, and now these two out of whoever is left has to fight vicious, strong, and resourcrful opponents and will stop at nothing to win the Hunger Games because winning means fame and fortune, losing is death, the Hunger Games have begun.

In this book it shows how the government has gotten powerful, you see major advancemnts in technology. Also shows what a person will do for pride, glory and survival. This story is for people who like to see action movies that keep you on the edge of your seat, some good decriptions and a twist in the end that sets you up for the sequel. It’s told from the point of view of the character, word for word thought for thought, you could put yourself in the main character’s shoes and be in the midst of battle while your are reading. This book is one of the best action books I have read in a while. I recommend this book for people who like the show ”LOST”, it keeps you thinking and the action is great. The Hunger Games may seem,” okay I have read better”, but when you get to the awesome parts of the books you don’t want to put it down.
