CinderCinder was adopted by a doctor and his wife, Adri, when she was very young. Not long after Cinder was adopted, the doctor died. Adri never even wanted Cinder. I mean who would, she’s a cyborg. In New Beijing, cyborgs are the lowest of the low. So, wanting nothing to do with her, Adri sent Cinder to work as a mechanic in the busiest part of the city. One day while working, Cinder meets Prince Kai. Luckily, he doesn’t know that she’s a cyborg. Kai needs her to fix his android and as soon as possible. Not wanting to let down the prince, she agrees. Later while searching the junkyard for parts, Cinder’s adopted sister, Peony, catches the plague called Letumosis. Letumosis has been killing people all over the world. It was brought to earth by Lunars who are people that live in a colony on the moon. New Beijing has been trying to find a cure by testing on cyborgs, nothing has worked. After hearing the news about her daughter, Adri sends Cinder to be tested on. Why does Kai need his android fixed so quickly? Will the cure be found? Will Cinder survive the testing?

Cinder by Marissa Meyer is a futuristic version of the famous story Cinderella. This book is well told and has a lot of detail. Once you start reading, you won’t be able to stop. I would recommend this to anyone who likes science fiction and/or futuristic novels.
