“It’s time. The rifle shots explode simultaneously in the distance-a dozen of them at least-and just like that, we are moving as one.” Lena Tiddle has been in the Wilds for nearly a year now. Throughout that year she has made herself believe that the boy that she loved enough to cross over to the Wilds was dead. She has also fallen in love with another boy, Julian Fineman. All of sudden her true love has come back from the dead. Fighting to understand her feelings for both of the boys, she also has to help the resistance break into the barrier of all the cities. They decide to start with her hometown, Portland. Before they can go though, Alex disappears in the night leaving only a short letter behind. Knowing that she will never love Julian the way she loves Alex, Lena has to break the barriers of Portland and fight for what she believes is right.

Requiem is definitely one of the best books I have ever read. It is the last book in the trilogy (delirium being the first book, pandemonium being the second). This series really shows how much we depend on love. It is asking you to imagine a world where you do not feel bad about doing something, where your heart doesn’t beat for somebody you love. I would highly recommend this book to teenage girls who like a good romance along with adventure. You will see into the eyes of an 18 year old girl who struggles to eat, sleep, and do the one thing she left safety for, love.
