The Society is a very controlled place. Everything has a reason. Everything happens on purpose. Nothing happens without the Officials knowing. They even know the secret love of Ky and Cassia. After Ky gets sent away to the Outer Provinces, Cassia still holds on to the hope that they will soon meet again. While going from camp to camp, for work, Ky is the only thing she can think about. When a Society plane lands at her camp, she knows where they are going. The Outer Provinces. This is her chance. To find Ky. Meanwhile Ky and two other boys, Vic and Eli, plan to escape into The Carving. After a surprising escape, they venture through The Carving looking for a way to the Society. A week after their escape, Cassia and another girl named Indie, landing the Outer Provinces. Realizing that Ky is no longer there, Cassia decides to ask around. Finally, a boy admits that he remembers Ky and tells Indie And Cassia that he will take them to where Ky went. Will Cassia and Ky find each other? What does Indie want in The Carving? What makes The Carving so special?

Crossed is the sequel to the book Matched by Ally Condie.
This book is an exciting story of a group of rebellions trying to overcome the Society. I would recommend this book to people who like romance and intense scenes.
