Her step dad? A guy from school? Or maybe that mysterious guy from online? Who took Lainey? When 13 year old Lainey fails to come home after going to the movie with her friends, her mom waits days to call the police. After talking to kids at her school, and the school she recently moved from, Special agent Bobby Dees, who is still traumatized from his daughter, Katy disappearing one Friday night after school, finds out Lainey had a boyfriend, an online boyfriend. Who goes by the name Zach, and the user name ElCaptin. Bobby Dees does everything to trace this boyfriend, but the name is a dead end, and he used numerous public internet connections, so they can’t trace him. When this investigation leads to dead end after dead end, one reporter who’s been a little too nosey for Bobby’s liking, named Mike, gets a picture, a gruesome picture of another missing girl, not Lianey, but another girl who came from a bad home, just like Lainey, with her eyes cut out of her head. Inside the envelope was a card, with Bobby’s name on it. And once they find the body, another card with his name on it is found. Why is this murderer trying to get Bobby’s attention? Not too long after another picture comes in, and another, all with the girl’s eyes missing, and all with Bobby’s name. Then one picture comes, with a girl, who looks like Katy, and has her necklace. Is it Katy? Is this person just trying to get to Bobby? Will they ever find Lainey?

I absolutely love this book, it keeps you guessing, but your guesses will be wrong every time. The Irony in the story is how his own daughter went missing on a Friday after school, like Lainey did. I would recommend this story to someone who likes horror stories, because that’s exactly what this story is, horror. It’s still an amazing book, and Jilliane Hoffman describes everything in such detail, it creates amazing imagery. I would defiantly give this book a 5 out of 5 because it’s such an amazing story, and the author is an amazing writer
