Timelock by David Klass is the epic conclusion to ‘The Caretakers Trilogy.” Now that 19 year old Jack Danielson has saved the oceans and rainforest, he thinks that his duty to protect the earth’s future is complete, but one day, on his way home to his girlfriend, P.J; Jack is thrust forward into a desolated future. Here Jack must fight his way past horrible monsters and a grueling desert to reach the home of his true mother and rescue his father, the king of the future world, from the clutches of the Dark Army, an organization that thrives as the earth deteriorates. Narrowly escaping the Dark Army with his father and mother, with a little help from the telepathic, sarcastic, hungry, and loyal dog, Gisco, Jack has to travel back to his past. There he will fight alongside his father, his loyal dog, a ninja girl, a wise old wizard, and even his girlfriend to save the earth from being destroyed by the Dark Lord. He also faces one of the biggest decisions of his life, is his home in the future where he was born, or the past where he has lived?

In Timelock, David Klass did and amazing job concluding what was already an amazing story. His ability to entertain the reader to no end while still making them aware of the environmental concerns the book brings to point is astounding. Though the story was a bit too fantastic and some points dumb, Klass brought together a very unforgettable cast of characters that make you regret ever having to read that last page. The story is primarily about environmental awareness, but the story also brings to mind the idea of where home actually is. In the book, Jack has to decide whether his home is the future world in which he was born or the past where he was raised. The series is honestly one of my favorites, mostly due to the characters. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a book with almost non-stop action.
