Clay Jensen had a normal teenage life, until he uncovered something unexpected and disturbing in a package outside his front door. Clay had a good social life and he had many friends and peers, but clay started to have a different outlook on people and himself after one of his class mates/crush committed suicide.
After she pasted he found sets of cassette tapes that she recorded prior to her death (two weeks earlier), stating the aspects that caused her final decision of ending her own life. Hannah baker was her name, a name that many people will think of and feel guilt or desperate for answers. Hannah explains how each person is partly responsible and the actions they made that helped her to make a final choice to kill herself in those tapes. She also gives each person a map that marks special locations where she has been, she suggests that to whoever is listening to the tapes wants to really feel what she did, then they would listen and follow what she said. Clay, Marcus, Tyler, Jessica and nine other people that are involved in those tapes are in for a real reality check that would make them horrified and cautiously considerate before they let their actions become more then just meaningless words and ignorant behavior toward others ever again.

13 Reasons Why is a very emotional novel that shows readers how excruciating the behavior of others can be and the effects they can cause neutrally toward others. Jay Asher uses grave detail and crisp adjectives that create a vivid image for readers as part of his writing technique. This book isn’t just about a girl killing herself and the results left behind for her classmates to discover and deal with , it’s about consideration, thoughtfulness, and maturity of your actions toward more then just your friends . And not waiting until it’s too late to change a person’s life for the better. I would recommend this novel to people who love drama, suspense, and a touch of romance. This book snatches your attention and interests and creates a heartrending effect that deeply moves readers, and reveals how powerful your actions can be toward everything and everyone around you.
