Why are we here? That’s the question Bailey has been asking himself from the first time he was born. After a short and brutal life as a stray mutt, he journeys through many lives reborn into many different situations that all seem too resulted in bad endings. This pattern goes on forever until he is reborn once again, as a golden retriever puppy. This time he finds himself being loved by a little boy named Ethan. The two grow up together as best friends and go through many exciting and nerve-racking adventures together. Over time Bailey grows old and is forced to leave his wonderful life with his beloved owner. Bailey is led down the same familiar road and is reborn as another puppy. In this life Bailey finds himself constantly thinking about his old life with Ethan and wishing nothing more but to be able and live one just more life with him. If only he could find out how to reunite himself with Ethan and at the same time come across his purpose as a dog.

A Dog’s Purpose is a very different book, nothing like any other dog story you have ever read. The writing style is so captivating and will force you to never want to put the book down. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fast paced stories because new adventures constantly keep unfolding. I would also recommend this book to anyone who likes animal stories too. When reading this book I was left on the edge of my seat the whole time and I’m sure you will feel the same way.
