“They say that just before you die your whole life flashes in front of your eyes, but that’s not how it happened for me. To be honest I always thought the whole final moment mental life scan sounded pretty awful. Some things are better left buried nd forgotten, as my mom would say. I’d be happy to forget all of fifth grade and who wants to relive the first day of middle school? Add in the boring family vacations, pointless algebra classes, period cramps, and bad kisses, I barely lived thorough it the first time…”

Samantha Kingston perfect looks, perfect boyfriend, head of the popular clique, finds herself in a situation she doesn’t know how to handle. Cupid day, February 12th, at school means “valograms”, roses with notes attached to them. When Samantha gets one from her long term boyfriend Rob saying “Happy Cupid Day. Luv ya. Happy now?” , she thinks about how they’re planning to take it to the next level at the big party that night. After the party full of cigarette smoke and fights, tears and drama, she wants nothing more than to go home, sleep and forget the whole day happened. The ride home is a terrifying one. “…there was a flash of white in front of the car…suddenly the car was flipping off the road into the dark mouth of the woods…” She knew her life was over. But the next thing she knew she woke up in her bed on February 12th…Cupid Day. She was reliving her last day. Little did she know she was going to do it again six more times…

Before I Fall was a great book that always let you wanting more with every chapter. The author used great dialogue to show the emotion Samantha felt while trying to deal with this odd situation. Drama filled, intriguing, nd exciting, recommend this for girls who enjoy books that keep you on the edge of you seat with a twist of romance. By the end of the book, you’ll learn that life is a gift, not something you’re handed to take for granted.
