Long ago, in Skyrim, the northernmost part of the Empire, the dragons threatened the existence of all the people alive.  Their leader, Alduin, the most fearsome dragon in history, was prophesied to one day destroy the world.  Then, when everything seemed to be hopeless, a few heroes defeated Alduin, ending the terror.  But they could not kill Alduin.  They sent him into limbo, to one day return and spread fear again.  Now, the dragons are returning to Skyrim, a sign that Alduin will be back.  Your story begins when you are saved from being executed, ironically, by an attacking dragon.  Now you must fight to survive as you explore Skyrim and gain a name for yourself.  But little did you know that you are Dragonborn, which means you can use the shouts of the dragons.  This also means that you are the one destined to defeat Alduin, the World-Eater, who has now returned.  Will you survive?

The way the game is played is very original and different from most games.  On the Playstation 3 system, the controls make sense, your left hand assigned to the left trigger and your right hand assigned to the right.  But if you don’t like the setup, it is possible to adjust the controls to your liking.  Your character is able to use many kinds of weapons, magic, and armor, like swords, shields, flames, and many others.  You can improve weapons, learn new spells, and enchant weapons to deal more damage or have different effects.  There are executions which make the game more interesting, from bows and magic kills to sword stabs.  All in all, Skyrim’s game play is some of the best ever made.

Skyrim is, in my opinion, one of the best games ever made.  It is possible to play this game for hundreds of hours without doing everything, and the game almost never gets boring to play.  There is a main quest line, several side quest lines, and hundreds of small favors and jobs to be done.  The graphics in this game are incredible, showing every small detail imaginable.  There is a vast amount of land to be explored, with too many locations to count.  The game play itself is engaging and easy to figure out.  The physics of the game are, for the most part, perfect, with only a few minor problems.  It is very easy to learn how to play Skyrim in a short amount of time, even if you are new to gaming.  There is an option to turn the difficulty of combat up and down, so it is almost impossible to get stuck fighting the same enemy over and over.  There is no online mode of this game, but there is no end to the regular game mode anyway.  Skyrim has almost no bad aspects, and I would recommend this game to anyone who appreciates medieval-type combat and immense free-world game play.
