The two that are one must become the one that is all.

In The Alchemyst, Josh and Sophie Newman are introduced as a pair of teenage twins that work in a bookshop for Nick and Perry Flemming. Sitting in a coffee shop one day, Sophie nottices a group of very conspicuos looking fellows walking into the bookshop. Little did she know that these men would flip her world upside down and send her brother and her on an adventure that potentialy jepordize their lives and others.

Before the journey began, Sophie and Josh were closer than any brother or sister could be. Feeling each others pain, excitement, and fear when they weren’t even near each other was a benefit of being twins, but as the adventure continues, Josh and Sophie begin to realize that the farther they go to save the lives and relationships of others, the more they grow apart.

The Alchemyst, book 1 in the series The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, is a science fiction novel including some real life alchemysts and scientists. This series takes a lot of myths, legends, and campfire stores and murges it with history and science. I found this book intriging because it has a lot of history from around the world mixed with legends.  I strongly recommend this book to anyone interested in all of the above.
