Ethan Wate was just getting used to the strange and paranormal events happening in his quaint hometown of Gaitlin. But after getting the love of his life back, things have gotten out of control. Locusts, heat and devastating storms are tearing the town to shreds. Ethan and Lena struggle to find some understanding of Lena’s Claiming. Even Lena’s family is affected, their powers misfiring dangerously. Ethan’s best friend, Link, has been acting strangely too. Ethan welcomes the chaos as a distraction from his dreams. He’s being haunted, except it’snot Lena this time. Whoever it is has begun to follow him outside of his dreams, too. Ethan’s also forgetting names and telephone numbers of people he’s known all his life. Most days he’s too busy to ask why, or to afraid at what the answer might be. What’s happening to Ethan? What will happen to Gaitlin? What, or who, will need to be sacrificed to save the world??
This book is the third in the Beautiful Creatures trilogy. I couldn’t put itdown. The authors used imagery and strong vocabulary to create a world I would love to live in. This book picks at the readers emotions, only so that you feel what the characters are feeling. I recommend this book to everyone. It is an amazing read. I would suggest reading the first and second before this one, if you don’t you might suffer from extreme confusion and will have the sense that you missed something important.
