Carlos Fuentes, a cocky, tough, charming, Mexican is about to get a taste of reality when he is forced to move to Colorado with his brother, Alex, and attend high school. Since he has never been to this school, he has been assigned a guide to help him out for a week. Kiara, Carlos guide, soon realizes that Carlos will not be easy to handle. Not having left his past drug and gang life behind, Carlos, finds himself in a situation that will force him to either go to jail or live with Kiara and her family. Kiara is not someone Carlos Fuentes would usually be attracted to, but they soon discover that the rules of attraction overpower the social differences that conspire to keep them apart. As the danger grows for Carlos, he realizes that it is Kiara’s family who can save him. Is Carlos willing to endanger their safety for a chance at the kind of life he’s always dreamed of having? Read this book to find out!

I think this book was extremely good. It makes you want to keep reading until the end and not put it down. With suspense and romance lurking around every corner, Simone Elkeles does an excellent job of grabbing your attention and keeping it until you turn the very last page. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a very interesting read that is romantic, and realist fiction. Rules of Attraction definitely deserves 5 out of 5 stars.
