Four girls named Hanna, Spencer, Aria and Emily used to be best friends.  They all share one thing in common, their best friend Alison was murdered.  They know she is dead but mysteriously they are receiving text messages from someone named “A” that knows secrets shared only with Alison.  In the third book Perfect of the Pretty Little Liars series the girls face even more trouble and their lives become a wreck all because of “A”.  Each of them faces different problems based on their secrets.

Hanna was a popular, skinny girl that everybody wanted to be like but now her past is coming back.  She used to be chunky and to her perspective ugly.  She lost her only best friend Mona because “A” caused her to ruin Mona’s party surprise and embarrass herself in front of everyone.  Not only that, but Hanna used to have a problem with bulimia and its coming back with every Cheez- It she gobbles down.  Spencer is a genius who lately doesn’t have time to be smart.  With no time on her hands, “A” tells her to use her sister Melissa’s old writing and turn it in as hers.  But Melissa’s, or you could say Spencer’s writing, was so good that she is a finalist for the Golden Orchid writing award, which is a huge accomplishment.  Her sister is very angry when she finds out.  Spencer may know who murdered Alison but she can’t remember what she did or said the night Ali went missing.  Aria is a pretty girl who is stuck between two boys, her boyfriend Sean, who is nice, loving, and cares about her, or her crush Ezra who happens to be her teacher.  Her mom kicks her out of the house and refuses to speak to her because “A” told her mom about her dad cheating on her, which Aria promised to keep a secret.  She went to Sean’s house to live but she meets Ezra again and spends the night at his house once.  “A” tells Sean, who gets Ezra arrested, and leaves Aria without a place to live.  Emily is a girl that is confused about her sexuality.  She likes a girl named Maya but once everyone finds out about their secret romance she doesn’t know anymore.  Her parents threaten to send her to her Aunt’s house in Florida or become straight.  No one would have ever known if “A” hadn’t put a picture of her and Maya kissing all around the school.  Emily feels like she is doing something wrong but can she hide her true feelings?  Who is “A” and how will the girls solve their problems?

Perfect is an exciting book that keeps you wondering with every page and is full of mystery.  The book alternates chapters between the girl’s lives and their problems to show what each person experiences.  It is a fast paced book but the ending keeps you wondering and compels you to read the next one in the series.  The book is about love, heartbreak, loss, and danger.  I really enjoyed this book and think anyone that likes to read books with suspense and mystery will enjoy it too.  Perfect was a perfect book to read and trust me you won’t be able to put it down.
