Everyone has a summer they’ll never forget, but for Summer, her sun-soaked season changed her life forever.

Summer Smith is sick and tired of the cold weather of her hometown in Minnesota. So when she gets invited to stay in the Florida Keys with her Aunt Mallory and Cousin Diana for the summer, she couldn’t leave fast enough. So she packed her bags and headed off to the Florida Keys. She had tons of plans, including tanning, getting a job, shopping, and having fun with new people and new boys. All summer wanted was relaxed summer, but little did she know lies, dark secrets, and twists would make this summer different from all others in the past. She soon finds out who her real friends and enemies are and may make a few wrong decisions along the way but she’s determined to make the best of everything and have an amazing summer.

Katherine Applegate makes this book exciting, fun, and easy to keep reading.  I really liked it because I could relate with Summer a lot because of what was happening to her throughout the book and because it was told in Summer’s point of view, making her feelings better heard and easier to relate to. I would recommend this book to girls who like fast paced, exciting, and interesting summer books that keep you hooked until the end. Katherine Applegate will leave you wanting more. Good thing there’s a sequel, Tan Lines!
