Auden is an 18 year old girl who is incredibly smart. After years of bickering, her parents divorced when she was young. Instead of talking about her problems she ‘fixed’ them by staying awake and studying at a nearby café. Auden’s life revolved around school since both of her parents were teachers but she had hardly any friends and missed out on many childhood experiences. One day she received a note from her brother Hollis which inspired her and she ended up living with her dad, who had a new wife and a new baby, the summer before her freshman year of college. Her stepmother makes her discover things about herself that she didn’t know and ends up changing her life.

Along for the Ride is an incredible story about love, redemption, and second chances. Many teenage girls who struggle with social skills would love this book.
