“Nine of us came here. We look like you. We talk like you. We live among you. But we are not you. We can do things you dream of doing. We have powers you dream of having. We are stronger and faster than anything you have ever seen. We are the superheroes you worship in movies and comic books- but we are real. Our plan was to grow, and train, and become strong, and become one, and fight them. But they found us and started hunting us first. No all of us are running, spending our lives in shadows, in places where no one would look, blending in. We have lived among you without you knowing. But they know. They caught Number One in Malaysia. Number Two in England. And Number Three in Kenya. They killed them all. I am Number Four.”

John Smith, a 15 year old alien from the planet Lorien, and his guardian, Henri, have to move to Paradise, Ohio as John, or Number Four, is next to be killed by the Magadorians. In Paradise, John finds himself in trouble with the head of the football team, a boy that John could easily break like a pencil, and falling in love with a girl named Sarah. Normally blending in too school, John is starting to stick out and gets a best friend, Sam. Happy with is new life, John does not want to leave when there are signs that the Magadorians are near. Going to the extremes, John and Henri continue working on John’s training for his powers. Soon, the Magadorians will come for Number Four and John is not ready.

The movie I Am Number Four is very interesting and grabs you from the beginning. You will be on the edge of your seat as you choose your side, the Loriens or the Magadorians. Many people think that I am Number Four is more like Twilight and that is why they don’t watch the movie. Twilight,  a movie about a vampire and a human falling in love, is different than I am Number Four, a movie about a alien running away from death. I would recommend this movie to any teen who likes adventure, science fiction, and a little bit of romance.
