To his friends Alex Rider is a normal fourteen-year-old classmate, but to the British Government he’s Alex Rider, an extremely talented fourteen-year-old agent. Alex is no slacker either. He knows exactly where he is and what he’s doing. The British secret force, M16, has used Alex as their inside source for a while now, but just as he is on break from his last mission Alex is shot in the chest with a .22 sniper rifle. Alex “wants out” of M16 and the espionage trade and has had enough of bullets flying past his head. His last mission was definitely not his favorite.

Now in the hospital from this horrible accident, Alex finds himself befriending a boy his age who turns out to be the son of the Russian multi-millionaire, Nikolai Drevin. What Alex doesn’t know is that Paul Drevin is the target of extremist terrorists, Force Three. Once again Alex is pulled into the madness and is deep in the action. What will happen to Alex? Will he recover from his injury? What will happen to Paul?

I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was very exciting and adventurous. At some points I feel like this book is a mystery and is leading you on to the next part. I thought that Anthony Horowitz did a great job of portraying Alex as a teenage spy. Anyone who likes spy books, action, adventure, or mysteries will like Ark Angel. Ark Angel is one of eight books in Alex Rider series. The book before this is Scorpia, another good book by Horowitz.
