What girl doesn’t want sisters? Someone who will always look out for you and will always be on your side. When Jane, Ruth, and Laura get invitations to their small schools most exclusive sorority, closed to only ten members, they are ecstatic. Every girl wants to be a part of Daughters of Eve because they are popular, throw great parties, and are just nice.

This is all too good to last for these new members and the previously initiated members too. When you have ten teenage girls together things are bound to get messy, especially when the girls are so different. You have a few girls with futures that are on the very top of their minds like Bambi Ellis who is beautiful without trying and has a promising modeling career in front of her, and Fran Schneider, “the scientist,” with perfect grades and a spot in any college she wants. There are also less focused girls, not knowing what they really want out of life, and Irene, supervisor of Daughters of Eve is there to help them.

Irene has a specific view of life and she is determined to share it with “her” girls. Irene knows that all men are horrible and should not be trusted. The girls in Daughters of Eve are her lives to be molded and she is determined to change the world. Will Irene’s determination to make the girls understand how unfair the world is create something worse than children not listening to parents and girls expressing their opinions more? Yes it will. The real question is: Who is going to get hurt?

This book is amazing and unpredictable. The book is written so the narrator of the story switches between the girls every few pages. There are so many names of characters in this story; I had to reread the beginning to understand. This book is full of controversial topics that are not brought up as much as others in this modern day. It will make you think about your town, your life, your family. Are you as perfect as you think?
