Ever Bloom is back in the second installment of “The Immortals”

series, Blue Moon, by Alyson Noel. After being swept off her feet by the mysterious new boy from school, Damen Auguste, both Ever and Damen are challenged in their trust in each other throughout the book. School drags on as Ever falls deep into the depths of magic in the mystical land of Summerland, realizing no place is as perfect as it seems. Roman, another new guy in school, then sweeps in, turning Ever and Damen’s worlds upside down. As soon as Roman shows up to school that one day, Ever as a bad feeling about the blonde-headed British heart-throb. However, Damen doesn’t think anything of it, as if Roman was just another guy around school. Then, out of nowhere, comes a new twist to the series. Suddenly, Damen starts to fade away from Ever, forgetting his whole relationship with her, while also becoming weaker and weaker each day. Ever must escape into Summerland to reverse the curse and fix everything before Damen becomes too weak, and parishes. By the end of the book, Roman sweeps in again, and gives Ever an ultimatum that questions all that she’s ever believed. Is Roman the reason Damen is fading away? What is the ultimatum? What will Ever choose? Will Damen survive? Will anything ever be the same?

Alyson Noel is an amazing writer, with a wonderful writing style. Her writing makes you feel as if you were there with Ever, Damen, Roman, and all the other characters, experiencing what they’re experiencing. You’re on the edge of your seat the entire time during the book, never wanting to put it down. You’ll always wondering what’s going to happen next, and if everything will work out in the end. Blue Moon is the second book in “The Immortals” series, after Evermore, the first book. It would be wise to read the first one, or you would be very confused. After Blue Moon is Shadowland, then Dark Flame, and on November 16th, 2010, comes Night Star. Every book will leave you breathless for the next, not ever wanting the series to end. I recommend this book to anyone that read the “Twilight” series, or the “Night World” books, or any other vampire books. They may not be vampires, but they’re pretty close!
