Imagine yourself in a room with America’s most dangerous convicts, like Al Capone or Machine Gun Kelly. Now imagine having to live with them and hundreds of other dangerous convicts on the island and prison of Alcatraz. But your not a prisoner, and your not one of the guards, you’re the son of the prison’s electrician and prison guard. This is only a small taste of the life that unrolls for Moose Flanagan, his family, and other friends on the island. So why do the Flanagans live on an island of prisoners? The prison offered a small apartment to all the prison workers and their families.

Moose, just a simple kid, likes to play baseball and hangout with friends. But hanging out with friends becomes a real drag when moose meets Piper, the warden’s daughter. Piper always has an idea to bring in a crowd and make some money off them. And like all bosses children, she can get away with most anything, by blaming Moose or his friends. And on top of getting trouble with the warden continuously, Moose must find a way to get Natalie, his mentally challenged sister, into a school that understands her needs to get better. But theirs only one problem, with Natalie being over the age limit for the school, there’s only one person that can get moose’s sister enrolled in the school. And it means going against the warden’s rules, and endangering his father’s job to accomplish the deed.

This is a great book that shows the determination and compassion of a loving brother like Moose. The challenges that he encounters can be both funny and bold. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a shorter read with a little bit of adventure. I found this book to starts slow but the suspense came and built through the whole book, I wasn’t disapointed and you won’t be either.
