Summer is a time for swimming, hanging out with friends and soaking up every last second together before school starts, but this is no ordinary summer. This summer is different for 16 year old Natalie. After a boring, routinely start to summer Natalie is willing to except any excitement she can get. Then she gets the calls and the news isn’t exactly the kind of change she was expecting. Her summer suddenly changes after her older sister Claire’s accident. Natalie quickly finds herself questioning hope, faith and making decisions she never thought would come her way. Claire was always supposed to be there, in their room getting ready for parties, riding her bike, playing soccer, going off to college in the fall, not laying in a hospital bed hooked up to wires. After that one call, that one night that defined the summer, Natalie realizes just how easily life can change and exactly how heavy the question would you? Really is.

Would You is a quick but powerful read, which has you asking yourself what would I do? It leaves you realizing just how meaningful life really is, and exactly how much impact family and friends can have on your life. It also allows you a brief look on how quickly life can change. This book is very realistic and is easily relatable to. The way Marthe Jocelyn wrote this leaves you wondering what would I do in Natalie’s position? How would I feel? I loved how easy it was to put myself in Natalie’s shoes and imagine how it would feel walking into the house to discover that things were about to change and not exactly for the good. I would recommend this book to teens looking for a relatable and easy read.
