Ever Bloom was one of the most popular girls in school, beautiful, confident, and a social butterfly. She had many friends and loved her life, until a horrible accident happens in her family, causing her mom, dad, sister Riley, and her dog Buttercup to die, and she does to, but only for a moment. She remembers dying, but then not going “over the bridge” with her family into the after-life.

“I went after them. At first trying to run and catch up, but then slowing and choosing to linger. Wanting to wander through that vast fragrant field of pulsating trees and flowers that shivered, closing my eyes against the dazzling mist that reflected and glowed and made everything shimmer.”

Now Ever is an out-cast, and hides from people in her new school in Laguna Beach, living with her aunt Sabine. She isolates herself under her hoodie, a pair of sunglasses, and her I Pod. However, one day a mysterious new boy comes to school named Damen Auguste who turns her life upside down and changes her life forever. After getting to know Damen, Ever soons finds out Damen is not who he says he is. Damen is hiding a huge secret that affects her past, present, and even future. This book is full of twists and turns of fate, and will leave you awaiting the next book!

Evermore is the first book in “The Immortals” series. Currently there are four books. Evermore, Blue Moon, Shadowland, and Dark Flame. The fifth book, Night Star, comes out November 16th, 2010. Each book leaves you on the edge of your seat, breathless for the next book. Evermore is one of my favorite books of all time. Alyson Noel has a wonderful way of describing events, as if you were really there yourself. If you like the “Twilight” series, the “Night World” books, or any other vampire books, this book will bring the same types or reactions to you.

This book is really about what it’s like to have your whole world turn upside down, and how one person can make all the difference. The book is a medium length book, around three hundred pages. Alyson Noel has also written books such as Radiance, and Cruel Summer. All of her books are fantastic and are great reads. Teenage girls are the biggest group of readers for this type of book, which is fiction and fantasy. I rate Evermore five stars, for an over-all amazing book.
