It was Melinda’s first day of High School, completely nerve wrecking for anyone, but for Melinda…a lot worse. The girl to call the cops at an end of summer party didn’t help Melinda’s first day of high school go any smoother. None of her friends would even speak to her. Especially Rachel, Melinda’s ex-best friend. Melinda is dying to tell Rachel what REALLY happened at that party…but Melinda’s trying to save her best friend from the pain the truth will bring, even though its eating her up inside…

This secret was ruining Melinda’s life.

Will Melinda ever SPEAK the truth?

I think Speak does a great job at portraying the struggles of high school. I wasn’t prepared for all of the emotion this book actually had, its raw, and painful and 100% honest. This is a great book; I recommend it for teens, parents and teachers.
